1847 N-29 R3 MS60. Glossy medium brown with traces of mint red on the obverse, 20% remaining on the reverse. There is a small carbon spot left of star 1 and a slightly larger one over star 5, plus very tiny specks of carbon sprinkled about the obverse. LDS, die state d. A die crack shows through UNITED to the dentils over the adjacent S. A bit softly struck on the hair over the ear and coronet over LIB, which is typical of the variety. Tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS62BN (NGC label included). DWH #2076.
