Christ seated facing on backless throne, wearing nimbus cr., raising r. hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels. Rev. Half-length figures of John, on l., and the Virgin, on r., holding patriarchal cross between them, the emperor wearing crown and loros and holding akakia in r. hand, manus Dei above his head., the Virgin nimbate. DOC 1; Hendy pl. 9, 1-3; Sear 1938. Choice Extremely Fine, large flan, the obverse slightly double-struck.
