Byzantine Empire. Alexius I, 1081-1118 (Pre-Reform Coinage, 1081-1092). Histamenon Nomisma (electrum or silver, 4.39g). Thessalonica 1082-7. Similar to previous, but instead of labarum St. Demetrius presents to the emperor a patriarchal cross resting on globus and two steps. DOC 5a; Hendy pl. 1, 10-12; Sear 1905. Good Very Fine and very rare, obverse a little weakly struck.
