1882 $1 Gold Indian. NGC graded Proof 65 Cameo CAC Verified. Old holder. Well struck and choice for the grade. The presently offered specimen graded Proof 65 Cameo, and, considering just its numerical grade it is among the finest graded examples of the '82 Gold Dollar in Proof. As such it stands as a coin of that a collector can use as a standard-bearer for other Proof gold coins, a great find for the dedicated numismatist. Along with the impressive grade, it has much to offer where aesthetic qualities are concerned. The surfaces reflect deeply the orange gold surface with sharply contrasting satiny and lustrous devices. Some faint stippled effect is seen in the fields, sometimes called "orange peel" effect and typical among Proof gold dollars of the 1880s. A truly sterling example in every respect. Only 125 proofs struck. Pop 7; 4 in 66 CAM; 1 in 67 CAM. (PCGS # 87632) .
