1942 Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 65 PQ. Old green holder. A fully white gem. It wasn't until the 1930s that the mint developed techniques for polishing the walking Liberty half dollar dies to make brilliant Proofs. In the beginning in 1916, it was thought this was impossible to achieve. But achieve it they did, with this gorgeous Gem Proof 1942 being a shining example (PCGS # 6642) .
