1922. PCGS graded MS-65. A well struck gem example. This is a scarce issue at the gem level, but prohibitive any finer. So most collectors who are able to acquire a 1922 double eagle in MS-65. Here is a splendid coin to represent this issue. Pop 1,340; 16 finer, 8 in 65+, 8 in 66. (PCGS # 9173) .
