D N THEODOSI-VS P F AVG, diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Thedosius II facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield with horseman spearing enemy. Reverse: IMP XXXXII COS XVII P P, Constantinopolis seated left, foot resting on prow, holding globus cruciger and scepter; shield behind; in left field, star; COMOB. Cf. The slight doubling of the legends obscures the punctuation on this coin, which is needed to precisely attribute the coin to RIC number.
