Lot 182

1849 N-7 R3 PCGS graded AU58, CAC Approved. Very attractive lustrous chocolate brown with overtones of satiny light bluish steel covering the protected areas. No spots or stains, but there are a few contact marks. These include three tiny ticks on the jawline, another high on the cheek, and a vertical scrape hidden in the curls above the 9 and on the rim below the 9. These marks are not conspicuous and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. LDS, die state g, displaying all the crumbling and die wear associated with the latest state. Our grade is net AU50. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 4 finer at PCGS for the variety. Estimated Value $300-UP

Ex Tony Terranova-Evan L. Kopald, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 9/20/2010:1153-Fred Iskra Collection (includes the Kopald lot ticket).
