Lot 18

1794 C-7 R5+. VF-25. Very attractive glossy chocolate brown with traces of slightly lighter brown toning mixed in on both sides. The surfaces are smooth and void of any significant defects. The best identifying marks are a tiny pinprick in the field tucked in close to the throat so it is difficult to see, a shallow planchet flake on the bust, and a pair of small rim nicks at the bottom of the reverse. LDS, Manley state 2.0. The die crack from the rim through the E in UNITED is strong. A beautiful example of this rare variety, in the lower half of the condition census. Weight 102.3 grains.
Estimated Value $12,500 - 15,000.
Ex Chris McCawley FPL 12/2001.

Realized $19,550
