Lot 1752

1889-S $20 Liberty. PCGS graded MS-63. Lovely golden toning on both sides. Somewhat higher population in this grade than a few others struck at San Francisco in the 1880s, yet in stronger demand. The luster streams right up to the embankment of the rims on both sides. It is as if it the rims were having trouble stemming the golden tide. Even when a viewer holds the coin at a distance looking across the river of gold, mysterious emanations seems to stream off its beautiful surface. Pop 247; 8 in 64 none finer at PCGS (PCGS # 9012) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.

Realized $4,025
