1796 Draped Bust Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded VG-8. Nicely toned on both sides. The Browning-2 variety (there were only 2 obverses used to strike the 6,146 quarter dollars minted this year) has the 6 in the date high (nearly touching) and slightly cantered to the right. Smooth, evenly balanced wear with excellent design elements plus attractive toning. There are a few very faint hairlines on the portrait of this key date quarter. ON the reverse occur some more noticeable hairlines and a bit of soft mushy appearance to the wreath on both sides of the eagle. Full clear date and legends. Popular first year type (PCGS # 5310) .
Estimated Value $10,000 - 12,000.
The Victor Kramer Collection.
