WWII, Fine art lithograph, "The Final Moment" by Roy Grinnell. It is autographed by 18 Arizona survivors who were on the ship when it was hit and sunk in Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. The print commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Japanese attack and depicts the attack on the Arizona moments before its fatal destruction. Shortly before 08:00 local time on 12/7/1941, Japanese aircraft from six aircraft carriers struck the Pacific Fleet. The bombers scored four hits and three near misses on and around Arizona. The last bomb hit at 08:06 in the vicinity of Turret II. About seven seconds after the hit, the forward magazines detonated in a cataclysmic explosion. Of the 1400 crewmen on board fewer than 225 survived (1,177 perished). Today the U.S.S. Arizona is a National Historic Landmark and memorial. Few of these 18 survivors are still with us. Acompanied by a COA certifying the authenticity of all 18 autographs. A touching tribute to the crew and ship itself.
Estimated Value $250 - 500.
