1846 N-23 R6- Tall Date Repunched 1 VF30. Glossy medium brown and chocolate. There are a couple thin, light nicks at the throat and a tiny planchet flake on the rim at ME, as struck. MDS, die state a, without a rim cud break above TES. Repunching from the base of a stray 1 shows clearly across the upright of the 1. CC#5 in the Grellman census. Noyes photo #30014. An attractive example for the grade and a variety that's unknown in mint state. Comes with an impressive provenance. DWH #1916.
