Lot 1621

1901 Liberty Nickel. PCGS graded MS-65. Well struck and untoned. A small mark at the eyebrow. The surfaces are frosty and radiant. There is no toning. Need we remind bidders that a weak impression was left by the rebound of the (often dilapidated) dies that usually struck this series, especially at the stars and on the left ear of corn on the reverse; however, in the present case, the opposite is true, the coin shows outstanding detail and a clear, bold strike (PCGS # 3862) .
Estimated Value $525 - 550.
