Lot 1582

1945-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. Lovely blue and gold obv toning while the reverse is light hint of gold toning. A simply exquisite Gem, the heavily frosted surfaces gyrate to-and-fro with full, starbright textured luster under what has to be some of the more spectacular toning seen on a 1945-D. What one sees usually on this mint's coinage is an unconvincing impression left by the recoil of the dies; greatly to our pleasure and the bidders' enjoyment, on the other hand, that is not the case here. This coin is sharp, very sharp, in fact, with only the head on Liberty a little soft as it has a minor scuff on it (PCGS # 6625) .
Estimated Value $900 - 1,000.

Realized $920
