1852-D. EF-40. Choice original orange-gold color atop lustrous fields. A glass will locate some trivial scrapes, one in the field before Liberty's crown, another below her bust. Tough to find in high grades, with a scant 6,360 minted, leaving few for date collectors to choose from. As with most of these scarce dates, they were carefully selected by a collector who demanded quality.
