Lot 1514

1835 N-18 R4+ Small 8 & Stars. NGC graded Fine-15. Choice glossy medium brown and chocolate. No defects, very nice for the grade, especially for a rare variety that usually comes with significant problems. A good identifying mark is a tiny pinprick just under the right base of the I in UNITED. Usual die state with the reverse rotated 35 degrees from a normal head-to-foot orientation. EAC grade VG10. Called VG10 and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, and this is the highest graded example in his list in a condition better than average. The attribution and Reiver provenance are noted on the NGC label.
Estimated Value $750 - 1,250.
Ex Jules Reiver, Heritage 1/24/06:20047.

Realized $1,150
