Sicily, Syracuse. Time of Dionysius I, c. 405-400 BC. Gold 20 Litrae. Head of youthful Herakles left, wearing lion's skin; ethnic at left. Reverse: Quartered incuse square, head of Arethusa left in central circular incuse; letter of ethnic in each quarter. SNG ANS 352. Some peripheral striking weakness; and, the reverse die rusty and worn. Nevertheless, coin sharp and very lustrous. Extremely Fine.
