Sicily, Syracuse. Time of Dionysius I, c. before 405 BC. Gold 10 Litrae. Head of Athena left, wearing crested Attic helmet; retrograde ethnic at left. Reverse: Facing grimacing head of Gorgon, surrounded by aegis. SNG ANS 316 (same dies). Slight rust evident on reverse die, but Gorgon remains outstanding. Extremely Fine.
