Lot 1338

1807 S-275 R3 Large Fraction. VF-30. At least 5 points sharper but lightly cleaned and retoning light greenish olive brown with hints of bluish steel and sea-green overtones. No roughness and the only notable mark is an old hairline scratch into the field off the chin. Nicely struck EDS. A slightly higher grade may be justified when the color returns to a more natural hue. Called net VF30 and tied for CC#9 in the Noyes census, his photo #27806.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 2,000.
Ex J. R. Frankenfield, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Superior 2/17/01:592.
