Lot 131

1799 Draped Bust Cent. . S-189 R2. VG-10. Sharpness a few points better but there are pitmarks at RT in LIBERTY. Otherwise the surfaces are smooth and very attractive for the grade. No verdigris or notable signs of contact. Glossy steel brown and chocolate with dark olive toning in the pitmarks with a few specks of similar dark olive toning scattered about the reverse. The date is strong, including the bottom of the digits, and the legends are clear. E-MDS, Breen state II. Not perfect but the eye appeal remains decent and the bold date is a big plus.
Estimated Value $8,000 - 10,000.
