Lot 1276

1927-D Buffalo Nickel. PCGS graded MS-65. Not just a Gem, but a fully struck Gem, which is quite atypical for a 1927-D Buffalo Nickel. This one also boasts a lovely layer of rose-colored iridescence on both sides. The 1927-D Nickel hits a rather solid ceiling at the MS-65 level -- PCGS reports 42 in that grade, with none finer. In fact, of all the regular issue Buffalo Nickels, only the 1926-S, 1927-D, and 1927-S are unknown in PCGS MS-66 (or better) holders. Housed in an older, green-label PCGS holder, offering the possibility of an upgrade (PCGS # 3961) .
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.

Realized $9,775
