1900. PCGS graded Proof 68. This is the Finest Graded Proof by PCGS of this date. It is also the only Proof 68 graded by that service. NGC has graded 5 this high, with none higher. Somber gray toning on the obverse, with fiery orange gold at the centers. The reverse has a blaze of yellow on the lower right side and lilac colors above. Nearly perfect in its preservation, with abundant original color. This one needs to be reholdered, as there are several short dark hairs inside the plastic holder visible along the reverse rim. Quality control must be slipping a bit down in Newport Beach.
