Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 2

Lot 1161

1918/7-D Overdate. PCGS graded VF-30. This is the key date to the Buffalo Nickel series, with a low mintage and few survivors. Discovered in 1962, only a handful have turned up since that time. Upstaged only by the more recently discovered, and extremely rare, 1916 double die obverse. This particular coin has excellent surfaces, no circulation problems worthy of note, and is nicely preserved with typical nickel gray color. The overdate feature is visible to the unaided eye, with all digits complete. Highly desirable in this collector grade.

Realized $1,898
