Lot 1159
1839-C 3/3. VP-001. NGC graded AU-55. Light golden toning appears about the borders. A well struck example with a ample display of original golden luster beneath the toning, both sides balanced as to color and detail. Indeed, this Quarter Eagle was nicely socked by the dies, if readers will permit a colloquialism, perhaps not fully so at the eagle’s body, but still well enough that its attraction is enhanced. Only 18,140 struck. Estimated Value $3,500 - 3,800. The William H & Beuelaress K. Helem Collection.
