One of the Finest Known 1885 Liberty Nickels. NGC graded MS-67. Finest 1885 Nickel graded by NGC, it is the only coin in this grade classification, and there are none graded higher. PCGS shows similar numbers, with only 2 so graded as MS-67 of this key date, they also haven't graded any higher. Mintages plunged in 1885 and few were saved, hence Mint State coins are in feverish demand from date set collectors. Vibrant luster thoughout, with frosted devices over slightly prooflike fields. Identifiable by a tiny spot on the inner point of the star wedged in between her headband. Certainly one of the very finest known of the date.
