Lot 115

1833 C-1 R1. NGC graded MS-65 Brown. Very attractive dark bluish steel and chocolate with hints of lighter olive in the mix. The details are needle-sharp and the fields are smooth and reflective, fully prooflike. The only defects are a few tiny specks of verdigris or carbon near the right end of the date and another swipe of similar crud at the left end of the line below CENT. Great eye appeal and suggestive of a proof strike. EDS, Manley state 1.0. The obverse has no die clashmarks while there is a single set of clashmarks on the reverse. Our grade is MS63+ prooflike. The attribution is noted on the NGC label. In a new NGC 4 pronged holder.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
The Mark Gordon Collection.
