Lot 1139

1848 N-35 R2 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown. Lustrous light olive and bluish steel brown with 25% of the mint color remaining. A beautiful cent, void of any notable spots, stains, or contact marks. A microscopic planchet flake left of star 3 is the best identifying defect. MDS, die state a late. The bar at the dentils over the U in UNITED is dull but remains partially visible. Our grade is MS63+, close to MS64, and tied for CC#2 honors in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 1 finer in 66RB.
