1915 Barber Half Dollar. NGC graded Proof 68. Intense rainbow toning on both sides. Only 450 proofs issued. The 1915 is the last of three consecutive P-mint Barber Half Dollars that boast limited original mintages. Federal records indicate that only 138,000 business strike Halves flowed from the presses in that coinage facility during that year. The elusiveness of both Proof and Mint State survivors in today's market has prompted many Barber Half Dollar date collectors to obtain a survivor of the identically dated, 450-piece Proof delivery.

This exquisitely toned specimen is certainly among the finest survivors of this low-mintage P-mint issue. Both the obverse and the reverse are overall sharp in striking detail. The mint finish is multicolored iridescent, but we do note some lovely pastels over the satin texture of the central devices. The surfaces are silky smooth in sheen with nary a distracting blemish to report. With strong technical merits and eye-popping aesthetic appeal, this coin is sure to see spirited bidding at auction. Pop 5; none finer at NGC.
Estimated Value $11,000 - 13,000.

Realized $21,275
