Exceptional High Relief 1893 Liberty Head Medal. Eglit-51. NGC graded Proof 66 Ultra Cameo. Aluminum, 50mm. This is of the most popular medals from the World's Columbian Exposition and one of a few to grade this high. It was produced in 6 different sizes ranging from 23mm to 120mm. The high relief, left facing head of Liberty on the obverse has initials W.M. for Wilhelm Mayer below the truncation. A scene of Columbus landing is on the reverse. One of the finest known. Only one or two are believed to grade higher.
