Lot 1110

1848 N-5 R4 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Second 8 Repunched. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with 5% of the mint red showing on the obverse, 25% on the reverse. A small spot of lighter toning under star 6 is the best identifying mark. M-LDS, die state e. The reverse die is cracked but the rim cud off the stem tip has not formed. A beautiful example of this tough die variety. Our grade is MS62, CC#3 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS in BN.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
