Seated Liberty Half Dimes

Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 662
1847 Liberty Seated H10C PCGS MS66. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ. Intense blue and golden toning that envelopes the obverse and reverse like gloves made to order and fitted to perfection by the most careful aging and storage for generations. The surfaces are virtually pristine beneath, with nary a nick or tick to be found even when carefully studied. The date digit s are large, barely fitting in the tiny space between Liberty and the rim below--in fact the numbers touch Liberty's rocky base above. Pop 14; 6 finer, 5 in 67, 1 in 67+ (PCGS # 4337) Estimated Value $1,700 - 1,900

Lot 663
1854 Liberty Seated H10C PCGS MS65. PCGS graded MS-65 PQ. CAC. Housed in an Old Green Holder. Lightly toned and well struck for this important Arrows type coin. These Arrows coins were only issued for a few short years from 1853 to 1855 to notify the public that the amount of silver used in these plancehts had been slightly reduced--below any profit from melting them. Later Arrows coinage (1873-74) represented a differnt change in planchet stock than seen here. Fantastic quality with steel gray toning over lustrous fields. Boldly struck and quite appealing. Pop 43; 14 finer, 12 in 66, 1 in 66+, 1 in 67 (PCGS # 4358) Estimated Value $1,300 - 1,400
