Clinton, Bill and Monica Lewinsky (1946 -). 42nd President of the United States (1993-2001). Monica's Story, by Andrew Morton, signed by Monica Lewinsky ("Monica") and Andrew Morton ("Andrew Morton") on the title page and by Bill Clinton ("Bill Clinton"), on the first end page. 288 pp., hardcover, 8vo., paper boards. With just some slight discoloration along the lower edges of the boards and pages, this book is fine; dust jacket is fine or better.

Nixon, Richard M. Printed document signed ("Richard Nixon"), 5 pages, 11 x 8½", n.p., August 8, 1974. Being a photocopy of Nixon's Statement of Resignation. Nixon has signed in blue ballpoint ink at the upper right on the first page. Signature is clear and bold, document is clean. Fine.

With the release of the so-called "Smoking Gun" tape on August 5, 1974, President Nixon's guilt in the Watergate scandal cover-up was assured. It hastened the loss of his final supporters in Congress, making impeachment imminent, and so he reluctantly decided to step down. On the evening of August 8th, in a nationally televised address from the Oval Office, Nixon announced his intent to resign, saying in part, "To continue to fight through the months ahead for my personal vindication would almost totally absorb the time and attention of both the President and the Congress in a period when our entire focus should be on the great issues of peace abroad and prosperity without inflation at home. Therefore, I shall resign the Presidency effective at noon tomorrow." Almost immediately thereafter, Congress ended its impeachment proceedings, and within a month, Nixon was granted a full and unconditional pardon by his successor, Gerald Ford. Nixon continued to profess his innocence, despite the weight of the evidence, until his death in 1994. Estimated Value $1,000-UP

Obama, Barack (August 4, 1961 -). 44th President of the United States. Born and raised in Hawaii, for college Obama enrolled first at Occidental College in Los Angeles for his freshman and sophomore years, and then at Columbia University in New York City. He read deeply and widely about political and international affairs, graduating from Columbia with a political science major in 1983. After working a year in NYC for a business consulting firm, in 1985 he answered an ad placed by Jerry Kellman, a widely admired New York activist who was trying to help laid-off factory workers on the far South Side of Chicago after a succession of shuttering of steel mills. In spite of Obama's youth (only 24) he was hired to address the concerns of the virtually all black areas of Altgeld Gardens and Roseland, allowing him his first immersion into the African American community he had longed to both understand and belong to. An alliance of churches launched the Developing Communities Project which he would head in addressing the issues of the communities.

It was at this time Barack Obama wrote his brother, Roy (Abon'go Malik Obama), and wife, Mary, apologizing for not staying better in touch due to the difficulty and time required by the job. "I'm responsible for organizing an about 250,000 person community where unemployment is high and hope is low. My inexperience is showing but I hope that by the end of this year I will have a very good perspective on the possibilities and limits of this type of work." He closes with the presumption and hope that Roy and Mary's jobs are going well in D.C. and hopes to hear back from them soon "Love - Barack." Obama indeed was able to successfully organize civic issues such as the development of parks, after-school programs, adult training centers, and notably the removal of asbestos from some of the area's oldest housing projects. But he concluded that, faced with a complex city bureaucracy, he could prove far more effective with a law degree, and in 1988, Obama enrolled at Harvard Law School.

A rare, remarkable snapshot, handwritten and signed by the future President of the United States. In his mid- twenties, at the crossroads of a brilliant political career, he admits to the challenges of public service while demonstrating his sense of humanity, hope and possibility. His characteristic optimism, evidenced here, ultimately inspired a city, a nation, and the world. Estimated Value $5,000-UP

Being a copy of Obama's 2004 Democratic convention Keynote Speech, and in excellent condition. Here, in the speech that introduced Barack Obama to the American public, the rising statesman first used the term "The Audacity of Hope," an expression of optimism that would come to be intimately linked with his professional persona. Obama, Barack. Signed photo ("Barack Obama"), as President, in black Sharpie, 10 x 8", Washington, D.C., August 11, 2009. Handsomely matted and framed to an overall size of 17 x 13½". This color photograph of President Obama delivering his first inaugural address on January 20, 2009, was obtained in person at a Healthcare Town Hall forum later that same year. A signed affidavit explaining the circumstances under which the signature was procured is attached to the back of the frame. In excellent condition.

In a striking contrast to a campaign centered on the vital importance of "change" and his unique ability to bring something new to the executive office, Obama's inaugural speech reassured the American people of the incoming president's respect for the nation's traditions. At the same time, Obama used this important platform to call upon the public to join him in a "new era of responsibility," to "pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America", no simple task. Original Map From The Israel-Egypt Agreement Initialed on September 1, 1975. In January and May of 1974, Secretary of State Henry Kissinger engaged in "shuttle diplomacy," a term coined by the members of the media who followed Kissinger on his various short flights among Middle East capitals as he sought to deal with the fallout of the October 1973 war. After three weeks of fighting, a ceasefire found Israeli forces entangled with Egyptian and Syrian forces. In January 1974, Kissinger helped negotiate the first Egyptian-Israeli disengagement agreement in eight days, and in May, he arranged a Syrian-Israeli disengagement after a month of intense negotiations. Kissinger's shuttle diplomacy secured one last deal in September 1975, with the conclusion of a second Egyptian-Israeli disengagement agreement.

Rare copy of the Israel-Egypt Agreement Map, signed by both Yitzah Rabin ("Y. Rabin") and Henry A. Kissinger ("Henry A. Kissinger") during the final agreement meeting in Jerusalem on September 1, 1975. The map is tan, black and gray and measures 13 x 18". Rabin has additionally inscribed to the right center margin "To David Kennerly / With best wishes/. 9.1.75". Kissinger has signed below Rabin, his signature is slightly faded, but still quite discernible. Accompanying the map are 4 candid, black & white photos, taken during Kissenger's meetings with Anwar Sadat in Alexandria and with Rabin in Jerusalem. The photographs were taken by Official White House Photographer David H. Kennerly, the famed Pulitzer Prize winning photo-journalist who accompanied Kissenger during his last shuttle trip. Kissinger has signed and inscribed one of the four photos, which pictures the meeting with Rabin in Jerusalem: "To David Kennerly / with high regard / Henry A. Kissinger". Also included is a signed letter of explanation from Kennerly, dated June 15, 2010, outlining his trip to the Middle East with Kissinger. All the items are matted together and handsomely framed to an overall size of 34½ x 36". Fine. Estimated Value $5,000-UP
