Great Britain. Trial piece or Error 5 New Pence, 1996. Elizabeth II 1996 5 New Pence produced by the Royal Mint on a thin copper clad steel flan either in error or as an experiment. The weight of 1.8 grams is much lighter than the normal (nickel coin) 3.25 grams, and the coin is magnetic. The surfaces have a high quality for a currency coin and are almost prooflike. A very interesting modern rarity. NGC graded Mint Error MS-64 Red & Brown Gold Sticker. WINGS Approved.
