Lot 1077
1971 Apollo 15 FLOWN Apollo lunar sample return container rivet. The ALSRC carried lunar samples back to Earth. This rivet encased in 1¼" diameter acrylic plastic was removed from one of the two "rock boxes." Rivets were squeezed down when the rock box was closed on the lunar surface. The COA indicates that it is probable that the rivet may have fine lunar dust particles on its surface. These rivets were discarded after removal on Earth and the COA writer received this one as a gift from the laboratory team that handled this particular ALSRC.
Estimated Value $300 - 400.
