Lot 1120
1796. JR-6. NGC graded MS-64. Lovely toning. Semi reflective fields and boldly struck throughout. This is the first year of issue of the dime denomination, not that many were coined, and survivors are sparse today. Especially sparse in high mint state grades as seen here. A premium type coin for the advanced specialist and one to strongly consider if a memorable example of this issue is desired. Only 22,135 struck. Pop 20; 20 finer at NGC.
Estimated Value $40,000-UP.

Lot 1121
1797. JR-1, 16 Stars. PCGS graded MS-61. A hint of light gold tone and very frosty. The sixteen star variety is scarce, and this is one of the finer examples known today. Notice the lustrous fields and strength of separation of Liberty's curls as well as the eagle's breast feathers, these high points are seldom present on coins with brief circulation, so mint state coins like this must be obtained to fully examine the fine nuances of the dies. All of the dimes struck with this obverse die show a fine or heavy die crack through the upper portion of the date to Liberty's bust. Not only is this a tough date to find nice, but this also is a rare type coin at this grade level. Only 25,251 struck. Pop 1; 1 finer in 66 for the variety. (PCGS # 38748) .
Estimated Value $24,000 - 27,000.

Lot 1122
1807. JR-1. NGC graded MS-64. Lovely blue and golden toning spans the obverse and reverse. Both dies show the usually seen strong die clashing. There are a few tiny marks on the reverse, but this is clearly one of the finer examples of this last year of issue for the Draped Bust dime design. Hence many collectors seek out a high grade example to represent this style in their type collections. There are not too many around that offer this degree of attractive toning with near-gem surfaces. Pop 22; 17 finer, 14 in 65, 2 in 66, 1 in 67.
Estimated Value $14,000 - 15,000.

Lot 1124
1814. Large Date. JR-3. PCGS graded MS-64. Nicely toned. Some die clashing before Liberty's face on this somewhat later die state. A frosty coin for a Bust Dime collector. Its high degree of broad-spinning luster rests beneath toned highlights. Typical uneven strike and the noted long break on the reverse; with weakness at the usual Achilles' heel on the 1814’s, the stars on the right. Scarce coin in MS64 condition. Pop 24; 6 finer, 5 in 65, 1 in 66 (PCGS # 4488) .
Estimated Value $3,500 - 3,700.
