Lot 2208
1915. NGC graded MS-65. Frosty with a hint of gold tone and one of the most appealing issues from the Philadelphia Mint from the 1908 Motto issues through this year. The luster is attractive and pleasing, and the surfaces far finer than usually encountered for this date. The 1915 issue is similar to that of the 1911 and 1914, which all are available up to the choice grade, and even MS-64, but gems really tail off and the numbers certified reflect their true condition rarity. This 1915 is not as rare as the 1913 in gem, but certainly is an important offering for the collector who is assembling a gem set. An issue that has always been sought-after and a good coin to focus on if it is needed. Pop 41; 1 finer in 66. (PCGS # 9167) .
Estimated Value $18,000 - 19,000.
