A sharply struck medal, extremely fine with rich patination. Very rare. This treaty confirmed the earlier Treaty of Andrusova, 1667, where Russia and Poland agreed control of separate parts of Ukraine and also not to enter into future treaties with the Turks. The pact was highly important in the Eastern European struggle against Turksh Tartars as, by signing it, Russia joined the anti-Turkish coalition of Poland, the Holy Roman Empire and Venice.
