It is a common custom to hang a blessing for the home at its entrance to preserve the welfare of the house and its inhabitants. The blessing is engraved on this modelia. The design expresses the hope of living in peace, security and prosperity in our homes. The blessing for the home in Hebrew is engraved within a frame in the shape of a house. Within the frame are two doves of peace and a pair of hands. Around the frame are stylized decorations of fruits of the Seven Species: grape vine, fig, and pomegranate.

Pissarro was born in 1830 to a Sephardic French-Jewish family. Most of his life, until his death in 1903, was spent in Paris and the surrounding area.

This is un-number 436/666example of edition of 499. Contains 600 gm. of .9999 fine silver. Frame measures about 12 x 12" .The COA is on the back of the frame.

Features a colored lithograph depicting the peace prophecy –of animals surrounded by throngs of people and angels. Along the circumference, the inscription "ISAIAH'S PROPHECY OF PEACE" in Hebrew and English and the artist's name, "marc chagall"." Isaiah's Prophecy" is one of the works depicted in the tapestry which Marc Chagall created for the Knesset, Israel's parliament, in Jerusalem. The animals in the prophecy are seen within a burning bush. They are surrounded by throngs of people and angels.

The full prophecy is: "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling; and the little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze; the young ones shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole. The weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den". (Isaiah 11:6-8).

Amedeo Modigliani, the renowned Jewish painter-sculptor, was born in Italy at the end of the 19th century and painted his most prominent paintings after he moved to Paris. From the onset of his career as an artist he focused on painting and sculpting women and his creations emphasized their elongated necks and large eyes filled with emotion. "Jeanne Hébuterne", his impressive, famous and apparently final painting, was chosen to grace this oval medal and first oval Adillion (medal-pendant) issued by the IGCMC. Blue-eyed Jeanne, who was Modigliani’s student, partner in life and the mother of his child, loved him with all her heart and soul. The painting depicts her beautiful and noble image.

Features full color silk screen version of "[King David's] Entry into Jerusalem." This is serial number 164/5009. Contains 600 gm. of .9999 fine silver. Frame measures about 12 x 12" but is damaged; should be reframed. Probably the most popular of all the modelias produced. COA on back of frame.

"The Entry into Jerusalem" is one of the works in the tapestry adorning the Knesset, Israel's parliament. After King David established his capital in Jerusalem, he and the Israelites brought the Ark of the Covenant into the city in a joyous procession "with all manner of instruments … with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with sistra and with cymbals." Around the figure of David dancing and playing the lyre before the Ark, Marc Chagall unites the past, present and future of the people of Israel in a colorful and exquisite composition. Chagall blends David and his procession harmoniously with Hassidim in kaftans and pioneers and landscapes and symbols ranging from biblical times to the period of the modern state.

Features Dali’s creation "Hora around the Menorah" from his "Aliyah" series. This is serial number 216/666. Contains 485 gm. of .9999 fine silver. Frame measures about 12 x 12", with COA on back. Slight oxidation on high points.

Dali created the "Aliyah" series with inspiration from the establishment of the State of Israel and its cultural renewal after thousands of years of exile. "Hora around the Menorah" shows a typical image of the young, pioneering State. Dali postioned the dancers around the seven-branched menorah, in his own unique style.

Israel, Modelia, The Peacock by Eliezer Weishoff, Bronze Wall Plaque, 1997. Large framed 6 1/2 x 8" very high relief bronze medal issued by the Israel Government Coins & Medals Corp. Maximum of 777 authorized. Weighs 1500 gm. (about 4 pounds). Frame measures about 11 x 12", with COA on back. Original cost from the IGCMC was $285. This is a fabulous item for a peacock lover.

The colorful silk print created by Eliezer Weishoff, featuring a peacock hovering above an imaginary Jerusalem. The print is set in a cast elliptic decorative Modelia. Two sculpted peacocks surround the print in a flowing motion. The verse "AS BIRDS FLYING SO WILL THE LORD DEFEND JERUSALEM" (Isaiah 31:5), appears in Hebrew along the upper border and in English along the lower border. The artist's signature is embossed close to the lower edge of the Modelia.

In poems by Haim Nahman Bialik, Israel’s national poet, and the Yiddish poet Itzhak Manger, the peacock hovering above the city of Jerusalem is an expression of the yearning for spiritual enrichment – a place of fullness and untold splendor.
