  United States, Collection of Hobo Nickels Portraying Jewish Man. Most of these were hand carved by hobos in the 1920s-1940s on Buffalo Nickels, and sold by them; one of the creators carved the year "1940." Twenty portray a bearded Jew with a derby hat. One has a standing Jew, carved on the buffalo side. Thrtee carrying a similar portrait are on nickel-size Good Luck token. Plus there is an aluminum token with a similar portrayal issued in Louisville, Kentucky in 1982. Some of these are carved in excellent style and cost the consignor $80, $100 and $200 respectively. Great for a beginner or specialized collector, or for selling one at a time on ebay. Average Fine to Very Fine. Ex-Harry Flower Collection.
