An Outstanding display of Cosmonaut Anatoly Artsebarsky with 3 Autographs. Cosmonaut Artsebarsky spent almost 5 moths in space. He launched aboard Soyuz TM-12 (5/18/1991) and docked with the Mir Space Station. He took six space walks during the Mir EO-9 mission spending over 33 hours on these Evas. Artsebarsky along with Sergei Krikalev were almost stuck at the station. They were in orbit during the collapse of the Soviet Union. For several days, the political situation seriously jeopardized their position. He returned to earth on October 10, 1991.
The framed presentation is triple matted measuring 27 x 33". The background of the display is the flag of the Soviet Union with the hammer and sickle prominently displayed. This flag is the same flag shown in Artsebarsky’s official cosmonaut photograph. A print of the photo (with the flag draped in the background) and autographed by Artsebarsky is included. The third item is a flyer promoting the appearance of the Cosmonaut and personally inscribed.
A beautiful presentaion that in many ways marks the end of the cold war and the start of the Russians as partners in space exploration. Estimated Value $900 - 1,000
