Alexandrina, Irina. Moscow. View of the St. Nicholas (Nikolskaya) Tower of the Kremlin. Oil on canvas, signed at lower right. 23½ x 19½, framed to 34¼ x 30¼ in. The tower is on the northern side of the Kremlin and was built in 1492. It was damaged by Napoleon's troops and again during the October Revolution but was rebuilt both times. An icon of St. Nicholas is mounted above the gate. The red star at the top was erected in 1937. Irina Alexandrina (1965 -) is a Russian artist who graduated from the Russian Academy of Arts and has exhibited in Europe and the United States, as well as Russia. In 2010, former Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev presented former U.S. Secretaries of State Condoleeza Rice and George Shultz with a painting by Alexandrina as a gift for showing him around Silicon Valley. a. Two women washing a baby in a basin
b. Two children hiding behind a boulder watching a lady with a sword perform; a pony on a pole is behind.

The story depicted probably comes from the legend of Mulan or Mu Guiying. Beautiful rich colors and well executed. Each framed to an overall size of 25" x 17½". Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,500
