Collection of Songwriters, Composers, Musicians, Arrangers, etc. A variety of cards, letters, a note, a CD cover, most inscribed to music publisher Jay Morgenstern, signed by the following: Carl Perkins ("Blue Suede Shoes"); Dudley Moore (who could forget him in "Arthur" and "Ten"?); Neal Hefti (composed "Batman" theme); Jimmy Webb (writer of "MacArthur Park" and many more famous songs); Jerry Bock (he wrote "Fiddler on the Roof"); Fred Ebb (he won three Tony awards for best score with co-writer Kander); Ray Evans (lyricist who won three Academy Awards with partner Jay Livingston); Pete Seeger (folk singer and writer of "Where Have All the Flowers Gone," "If I Had A Hammer" and "Turn, Turn"); George Abbott (two contracts and a letter signed by the most successful and longest lived Broadway producer--"Pajama Game," "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum," etc.); Harvey Schmidt (composer of music for "The Fantasticks," the longest running musical in history); Sam the Sham Zamudio (singer of "Wooly Bully" and "L'il Red Riding Hood,"); Al Kasha, Joel Hirschhorn, and Lamont Dozier (letter signed by all three; the songwriting team of Kasha and Hirschhorn won two Oscars for Best Song and two Tony nominations; Dozier co-wrote "Stop, In the Name of Love" and "Baby I Need Your Loving"). The plaque reads: "Presented to Barbra Streisand from Warner Bros. Publications, Inc. to commemorate the sale in the U.S.A. of over 1 Million copies of the Sheet Music 'EVERGREEN' (LOVE THEME FROM 'A STAR IS BORN')". R.E.M. - Letter Signed by All Six Members. Typed letter on R.E.M./Athens, Ltd. letterhead, Sept. 17, 1991 to Jay Morgenstern of Warner-Chappell Music, Inc., signed by Peter L. Buck, J. Michael Stipe, William T Berry, and Michael E. Mills, as well as by counselor Bertis E. Downs and manager W. Jefferson Holt. Thanking Jay for contributing to a fundraiser for Senator Wyche Fowler of Georgia, whom they supported. A 6 x 4" R.E.M. / Out of Time card is attached. With a tri-fold folder, each, 10 x 14" featuring a picture of the group at center; Michael and Peter Buck sign on the left fold and Bill Berry (he inscribes "Thanks Jay") and Michael Mills sign on the right.
