ASTP, 1975, "DKS" Personalized ASTP Crew Patch (5"). This heavily embroidered A-B Emblem patch has an oval sticker attached to the reverse that reads: "Made in USA by A-B Emblem Corp., Weaverville, NC" This patch was made specifically for Deke Slayton with his initials incorporated, in gold, into the design at the bottom of the design. A limited number of similar patches were made for each of rhe American crew members of the flight. This patch is in its original clear plastic envelope as originally received by Slayton. Shuttle ALT Flown Cue Card from Free Flight 1, A nice display presented to Donald Puddy for his work on the ALT program. The handwritten inscription reads, "To Don – Thanks for your outstanding leadership of the ALT flight control team which left the pleasure of flying Enterprise to us. Our only regret is that you couldn’t go along too!" The printed inscription reads "This cue card was installed in the cockpit of the Enterprise during ALT Free Flight 1, August 12, 1977". The piece measures 16 x 20", the cue card is approximately 10 x 10" and appears to show Enterprise’s flight path. There is also a mission patch but no indication that it was flown. Some overall discoloration of the background especially where adhesive appears to have been applied while mounting the various items. Ex. the Donald Puddy Estate collection.
