1783 Washington Unity Cent Breen-1188. NGC graded EF-40. Choice glossy medium brown and chocolate. Smooth and attractive. The only mark is a faint hairline scratch just under the jawline. This example has none of the usual planchet marks near the dentils that were intentionally added by the coiners to simulate wear in circulation.

1783 Washington Unity Cent Breen-1188 F15. Glossy medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter brown toning on the highpoints. No defects, just light, even wear. The planchet is smooth and this piece is quite nice for the grade.

1783 Washington & Independence Draped Bust Cent Breen-1193 AU55. This is the Taylor restrike struck in London circa 1860. It has a center-grained edge device that distinguishes it from the original strikes. Mint state sharpness but there are a couple small patches of microscopic carbon on both sides. Lustrous chocolate brown with very faded mint color showing in protected areas on both sides.

1783 Washington & Independence Cent, Large Military Bust, Breen-1203 F15. Choice glossy chocolate brown. Smooth and very attractive for the grade. The only mark is a light rim bruise at the top of the obverse. Struck with the dies aligned head-to-head. Great eye appeal.

(1815-1820) Washington Double Head Cent Breen-1205 NCS Genuine. Lightly cleaned, now nicely retoned glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Details of F15 or slightly better. No spots, stains, or notable contact marks. Smooth and attractive in spite of the retoning. Listed on page 76 in the "Redbook."

1791 Washington Large Eagle Cent Breen-1206 Lettered Edge F12. Sharpness near VF20 but there are numerous light rim bruises around both sides. Otherwise the only mark is a dull dig in the field above George's head. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. Glossy chocolate brown with smooth fields. Weight 193.4 grains.

1791 Washington Large Eagle Cent Breen-1206 Lettered Edge VG10. Five points sharper but there are some fine scratches on the portrait, none notable. Otherwise the planchet is smooth and the devices are bold. Lightly cleaned and retoned glossy chocolate and steel. The edge lettering "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is bold. See page 77 of the "Redbook." Weight 182.3 grains.

1793/2 Washington Ship Halfpenny with Lettered Edge Breen-1225. PCGS graded AU-58. Glossy steel brown and chocolate with a couple puffs of reddish chocolate toning on both sides, clearest on the shoulder. The only marks are a collection of tiny planchet flakes in the field off the chin (as struck). MDS with swelling on the reverse. The 3 over 2 overdate feature remains visible. Listed on page 79 in the "Redbook."

(1766) William Pitt Medal in Silver Betts-516, Eimer-34. NGC graded AU-55. Attractive glossy light grayish steel with frosty electric blue toning in protected areas on the reverse. No defects, just light wear. Late die state, later than any of the examples in the John Ford collection, with two very strong die cracks through GVLI before Pitts's chest. Signed on the truncation T. PINGO F. Size and weight listed on the NGC label as 25.9 grams and 40.0 millimeters.
