1863, 5¢ Fractional Currency. Second Issue, without surcharges. PCGS Choice New 63PPQ. Fr-1232. . KL-3226. A lovely example with bright bronzing, fully original paper surfaces, and great eye appeal. The margins are average, otherwise this piece might have earned a much higher grade.
Estimated Value $75 - 100.

Lot 1682
1874, 10¢ Fractional Currency. Fifth Issue, red seal with long, thin key. PCGS Fair 2. Fr-1265. . KL-3349. While some collectors may scoff, there is quite a market for low grade certified notes. The Set Registry competitions that are sponsored by PCGS Currency include "lowball" sets, and points and awards are given for the lowest grades rather than the highest. This is the lowest non-Apparent graded note of its type, and more importantly it is one of only three "Fair 2" graded Fractionals of any type graded to date by PCGS Currency. The non-acquainted observer might be surprised when this piece brings more than a much higher grade piece might realize.
Estimated Value $50 - 100.
The Judy Cahn Collection.

1869, 50¢ Fractional Currency. Fourth Issue, Stanton portrait. PCGS Choice About New 55PPQ. Fr-1376. . KL-3345.
