Chagall, Marc. Label for Chateau Mouton Rothschild designed with a gouache by Marc Chagall in 1970 and signed by the artist. Since 1946, the label for Chateau Mouton Rothschild has been designed by a famous artist. Baron Philippe de Rothschild came up with the idea and many of the world's great painters and sculptors have contributed designs, adding to the cachet of the Mouton image.

The Fables of Aesop Illustrated by Edward J. Detmold. London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1909. Hardcover, Edition de luxe limited to 750 copies, this being No. 130, signed by the artist on the limitation page. 12½ x 10 inches, original publisher's cream cloth with gilt illustration, decoration and lettering to upper cover, gilt lettered and decorated spine, top edges gilt, small gray scarab vignette on endpapers and gilt scarab to back cover, no pagination. 25 beautiful color plates tipped to heavy cream paper, with captioned guards, line drawn headpieces. Wear and moderate to heavy toning to covers, darker on spine; some earlier repairs to spine. Light toning to heavy, cream pages; otherwise internally a nice tight copy.

Moses, Anna Mary Robertson "Grandma" (1860 - 1961) American folk artist who took up painting at the age of 70. Autograph Manuscript titled "Herbs are natures remedy," 3¼ pages, 10 x 8 inches, n.p., n.d. (c. 1935-40). Written on ruled paper; one page has small illustrations of medicinal plants pasted to the lower edge. Accompanied by a bold signature on 3¼ x 5½ inch paper.

Grandma Moses gives remedies for all types of ailments, including hives, colds, nerves, diabetes, cold hands and feet, asthma, anemia, hay fever, bed wetting, high blood pressure, night sweats, and "for the system." She describes how to prepare the herbs, many of them to be taken as teas. Herbs include sarsaparilla, gentian root, burdock, juniper berries, wild plum bark, red clover blossom, St. Johns wort, uva ursi leaves, elder flower and berries, nettle, and many others. She writes, "A few of the most important diaphoretic and sudorific botanicals are, Sage leaves, Boneset, Life Everlasting, Sassafras Bark, Colic Root Elder Flowers." She also throws in a "Ginger bread recipe now over 150 years old." Fine; written in blue ink; a few scattered light stains, not affecting legibility.

Rockwell, Norman (1894-1978) American illustrator and artist. The January 19, 1963 issue of The Saturday Evening Post signed by Rockwell above his printed name on the cover portrait of Nehru which Rockwell painted, 13½ x 10½ in. Light toning and creased lower right corner.

Warhol, Andy (1928-1987) American artist; leading exponent of pop art. First Edition Signed, Inscribed and dated copy of The Philosophy of Andy Warhol with a drawing by Warhol of a Campbell soup can, on the half-title page. Above a drawing of a soup can, labelled "Campbell Soup" Warhol wrote "To Marc" and below: "with much affection Andy Warhol 11-6-77." All in black marker. Some wear and edge chips to dust jacket.
