Lot 91		1811 C-2 R3 VG10. A few points sharper but there are a half dozen short scratches on both sides. No roughness or verdigris. Lot 92		1825 C-1 R3 EF40. Rotated Reverse. Glossy light olive and chocolate brown. Very attractive for the grade, just a few tiny marks from choice. The only notable marks are a trio of tiny rim nicks above the forehead. Sharply struck MDS, Manley state 2.0. The fields are hard and slightly reflective and the reverse is rotated 45 degrees CW. Lot 93		1825 C-1 R3 VF25. Rotated Reverse. Slightly sharper but there are a few more tiny nicks than you like to see for the sharpness grade, none notable. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate. A puff of darker chocolate toning at ER in AMERICA is the best identifying mark. LDS, Manley state 3.0. The reverse is rotated 140 degrees CCW relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. Lot 94		1826 C-1 R1 AU50. Lustrous chocolate and olive brown with a small spot of reddish chocolate toning at star 12. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas on both sides. There are a few very faint hairlines on both sides, but you have to catch the light at just the right angle to find them. MDS, Manley state 3.0. Estimated Value $200-UP. Lot 95		1826 C-2 R3+ VF30. Repunched 6. Glossy olive brown and chocolate. Smooth and quite attractive for the grade. The only notable mark is a thin diagonal nick above the A in HALF. Lot 97		1828 C-3 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. 13-Star Obverse. Frosty steel brown with a hint of bluish steel overtone in the fields and peeps of faded mint red remaining on the obverse. The only marks are a few wisps of darker toning on both sides, the largest of these between stars 9 & 10. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0. Our grade is MS60. Housed in an old green-label PCGS holder. Lot 98		1829 C-1 R1 EF40. Slightly sharper but lightly cleaned and retoned frosty light olive brown with subtle overtones of sea-green in the fields and protected areas. Excellent eye appeal in spite of the old retoning. The only notable marks are a trail of tiny ticks in the field from before the tip of the nose to the field right of star 3. MDS, Manley state 2.0. Lot 99		1832 C-2 R2 MS60. Lustrous olive brown mixed with some lighter chocolate brown tones. Faded mint red shows in the protected areas on both sides. Satiny and very attractive for the grade. The notable marks are a barely visible spot of darker toning in the dentils under the right edge of the 8 and another under the A in HALF. EDS, Manley state 1.0, before the die crack at TE in STATES. Lot 102		1835 C-1 R1 VF30. Struck on a planchet without upset rims (Stage I). Sharpness AU50 but there is a cut out of the rim over AT in STATES and a few very faint vertical hairline scratches down the portrait. Otherwise this piece is quite nice with satiny surfaces and no defects. Frosty grayish steel and light olive. LDS, Manley state 2.0. This piece was struck on a planchet that did not have the rims upset (Stage I). The result of this error is a piece with flat rims and poorly impressed dentils. Lot 104		1837 Hard Times Token Low-49 Rulau HT-73 R2 VF35. Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth and very attractive for the grade with just a few trivial marks. A microscopic diagonal hairline scratch under the H in WORTH is the best identifying mark. This is the only half cent denomination in the Hard Times Token series and it is often collected as part of the regular Federal half cent series (see the 2012 "Redbook" page 91).
