*In the War of the Spanish Succession, the Battle of Saragossa was fought on August 9th 1710 between the troops of a multinational force (commanded by Lieutenant General Stanhope and Count Starhemberg) and the Spanish-Bourbon army (led by the Marquis de Bay). the allies won the day. Further skirmishes led to a cessation of hostilities at the Peace of Utrecht.
