Lot 123
1793 S-3 R3- Chain AMERICA G5. A few points better, especially on the reverse where the legends are strong, but there are spots of shallow reddish verdigris scattered over the obverse, strongest above the date and in the field behind the portrait. Otherwise the planchet is decent for the grade with microscopic granularity covering both sides. The date is complete and easily readable but not strong and the legends are clear. Dark olive brown and chocolate with lighter chocolate toning covering the devices.
Estimated Value $3,000-UP.

Lot 124
1793 S-4 R3 Chain AMERICA with Periods AG3. Rather glossy chocolate and steel. There are myriad fine, light scratches covering both sides. The fields show extremely faint roughness while the devices are smooth. No verdigris. A dull nick under the L in LIBERTY and a small pit on the bottom of the N in ONE are good identifying marks. Only the upper half of the date remains visible, and it is faint. LIBERTY is complete and the reverse legends are mostly visible, especially the chain and legend inside.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.

Lot 125
1793 S-8 R3 Wreath Type with Vine & Bars Edge G5. Sharpness VF20 or better but most of the planchet is covered with moderate corrosion. A few specks of greenish verdigris can be found in recessed areas, and there are a half dozen dull rim nicks on the reverse, but the roughness is the only significant defect. Dark olive with slightly lighter chocolate and steel toning on the highpoints. The date and legends are distorted by the roughness but they can still be made out with minimum difficulty. EDS.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.

Lot 126
1793 S-8 R3 Wreath Type with Vine & Bars Edge AG3. Several points sharper but there are a few patches of deep pitting on both sides, the largest of which is in the field off the chin. Most of the planchet is reasonably smooth, but the pitting really catches your eye. Traces of shallow greenish verdigris are nestled into a few of the protected areas on the obverse. No significant contact marks. Slightly glossy chocolate brown with darker olive toning in protected areas. The date is visible except for the bottom of the 1, which is obliterated by one of the corrosion patches, and the legends are nearly complete. MDS with swelling in the center of the reverse.
Estimated Value $650-UP.

Lot 127
1793 S-9 R2 Wreath Type with Vine & Bars Edge VG7. A few points sharper but the fields and protected areas are covered with minor roughness while the devices are smooth. Glossy light to medium chocolate brown with darker olive brown toning in the protected areas. No marks or verdigris. The date and legends are complete and easily readable. EDS, before the die crack at CA in AMERICA. A decent lower grade example of our Wreath Cent.

Lot 128
1793 S-11a R4+ Wreath Type with Vine & Bars Edge G6. Sharpness F15 but granular, strongest in the field behind the head. No verdigris. The only notable mark is a planchet void at the top of the head under ER in LIBERTY. Dark olive and steel with chocolate toning on the highpoints of the portrait. The date and legends are clear except for the fraction, which was softly impressed due to being struck slightly off center towards the bottom of the reverse.
Estimated Value $1,500-UP.

Lot 129
1793 S-11b R4 Wreath Type with Lettered Edge F15. Sharpness EF45 or slightly better but the right two-thirds of the obverse is covered with light to moderate roughness and the right third of the reverse displays microscopic roughness. The remainder of the planchet is smooth, even choice. There is no trace of verdigris and the only sign of contact is a dull nick in the field behind the head. Frosty steel brown and chocolate fading to darker chocolate and olive brown in the roughened areas. Struck slightly off center to K-5 leaving some of the border beads slightly off the planchet but not affecting any of the legends or devices. The edge lettering is bold and the double leaf feature following DOLLAR is strong. A solid condition census example if not for the roughness.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
